Background and Education
I grew up and started my education in Knutsford. I went on to study for A Levels at college in Northwich, then pursued higher education at university in Sheffield. During this time, I juggled various part time jobs, with waitressing being the main one. My university degree included a valuable year in industry, where I worked at a small accountancy practice in Macclesfield. Working in a small practice I was able to experience and learn a wide range of skills.
Qualifications and Career Path
After graduating university with a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Management Control, I started work at an accountancy practice in Northwich. I worked in the Small- and Medium-sized Enterprises department and felt I had found my place. I completed my ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification whilst working there and living in Northwich.
From Northwich to Altrincham
In 2013 I moved to Altrincham and within a few years was married and had our son. I continued to work at the accountancy firm in Northwich but for many reasons, and after much thought, I decided it was time for a change. I left the accountancy practice in March 2023 and started the steep learning curve to run my own bookkeeping business.
